V.O. HERO is TooSix’s flagship content brand - a creative space where Korean and foreign voice actors step into the spotlight to bring characters to life in fresh and unexpected ways. The channel was built with a clear goal: to give emerging and established voice talent the opportunity to perform characters from video games and anime that have never been officially dubbed in Korean, audition for roles in TooSix’s in-development game projects, and connect directly with fans through interactive, performance-driven content. Every V.O. HERO session showcases a unique mix of character dubbing, live auditions, behind-the-scenes challenges, and community-voted performances, offering viewers an authentic look at the voice-over craft and giving creators a platform to develop, experiment, and shine.
But what does it really take to create a V.O. HERO performance? From casting and character prep to mic checks, camera setups, and final edits, each session is its own production. To give you a closer look at our process, let’s step behind the scenes and walk through the full journey of a V.O. HERO recording session.
Actor Preparation: Stepping Into Character
Every V.O. HERO recording begins with the voice actor: their preparation, their interpretation, and their creative energy. Once selected for a session, each actor receives preview materials, including sample videos and character references, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the scenes they will perform. This early access helps them study tone, pacing, emotion, and character dynamics so they can step into the booth with a clear sense of direction.

When they arrive at the studio, actors are given time to warm up and get comfortable in the performance environment. Some review their lines again, others practice different vocal textures, and many take a moment to connect with the character’s personality or emotional state. This warm-up period not only prepares their voice but also helps them settle into the creative mindset needed for the fast-paced, multi-take structure of a V.O. HERO session.
Studio Setup: Building the Performance Space
While the voice actor prepares their performance, the TooSix production team gets the studio ready to capture every detail of the session. Inside the live room, multiple microphones and cameras are positioned to record both high-quality audio and dynamic visuals. Each angle is chosen intentionally, not only to support precise sound engineering, but also to showcase the actor’s expressions, posture, and movement during the performance. These visual elements play a key role in the final V.O. HERO content, helping viewers feel closer to the process.
A display screen is set up inside the booth so actors can read scripts and review video references while performing. Before recording begins, we also conduct a short photo shoot to document the session and create assets for the final upload. This consistent visual archive ensures every V.O. HERO episode has a cohesive look and gives participants memorable stills from their experience.

Behind the scenes, the TooSix crew customizes each session based on the actor’s abilities and interests. This includes selecting character scenes from popular animation or video games; preparing audition material from our own in-development titles; and designing V.O. HERO performance challenges that showcase versatility and acting range. Every session is intentionally crafted to bring out the best in each participant while giving audiences something fresh and engaging to watch.
Lights, Mic, Action: The Recording Process
Once everything is set, the recording session begins: a mix of performance, creativity, and real-time direction. Before stepping into the booth, each participant has a brief interview where they introduce themselves, talk about their character choices, and share their approach to voice acting. This warm-up conversation helps break the ice and gives viewers insight into the talent behind the microphone.
Inside the live booth, actors start with a mic test, allowing them to adjust volume, vocal tone, and projection while getting comfortable in the recording environment. This moment also serves as a final vocal warm-up before diving into the main content. For each video sample, participants are given three takes - three chances to interpret the role, experiment with delivery, and discover the version that feels the most authentic. Some scenes are familiar, since actors have previewed them beforehand; others are intentionally new to test spontaneity and adaptability, reflecting the real-world challenges of voice-over work.

Throughout the session, the TooSix crew provides guidance, timing cues, and feedback when needed, ensuring the actor’s performance aligns with both character intention and production quality. It’s a collaborative process, full of adjustments, laughter, surprise moments, and performances that evolve with every take. These raw, genuine interactions are what make V.O. HERO sessions so compelling - capturing not just the polished result, but the journey of bringing a character to life.
From Raw Takes to Final Cut: Post-Production
When the recording wraps, the spotlight shifts from performance to post-production, where the TooSix team shapes the raw material into a polished V.O. HERO episode. All audio and video files from the session are uploaded and organized, then the sound engineering process begins. Using Pro Tools, our audio team cleans, balances, and enhances each take, ensuring clarity, consistent levels, and professional-quality sound that highlights the actor’s performance.

Once the audio is finalized, the footage moves into video editing, where the editor selects the strongest takes, memorable outtakes, and the best visual angles captured during the session. Multi-angle editing allows us to showcase not only the voice work but also the physicality behind it: the expressions, gestures, and energy that make voice acting such a dynamic art form. Supporting materials, including AI-enhanced assets when appropriate, are created to complete the visual storytelling and bring the final piece to life.
Each V.O. HERO episode is designed to reach both fans of voice acting and newcomers discovering the craft for the first time. The result is a polished, engaging performance that reflects the collaboration between the actor and our production team - transforming a single studio session into content shared with thousands of viewers.
The Final V.O. HERO Experience
After all the preparation, performance, and editing, a V.O. HERO session becomes what our audience sees online: a polished, dynamic showcase of Korean and international voice talent. Each video highlights the actor’s strongest takes, behind-the-scenes moments, and the unique energy they bring to their characters. With clean audio, multi-angle visuals, and thoughtful storytelling, the final product captures not just the performance, but the creative journey behind it.
